DIVERSITY is CCEC's strength. Just as each exceptional child has special needs, each geographical area within Canada contributes uniquely to the dialogue of Canadian CEC.

YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN IMPORTANT MATTERS
As a CCEC member, you have multiple opportunities to increase your visibility in the field, connect with colleagues, and improve the practice of special education.

Job Bank
Career connections, CEC's Online Job Bank, makes it easy for special educators to let the people who count know of their career accomplishments and interests. The Job Bank includes a job posting service and resume referral service -each designed to match the right educator with the right job.

Opportunities to Publish
CEC offers numerous opportunities for members, including teachers, higher education professionals, researchers, and students, to publish their work. In addition to our journals, EC and TEC, and CCEC's newsletter, CEC Today, CEC also publishes books, monographs, and videos on special education issues, practices, and developments.

Opportunities to Present and Share Knowledge
CEC invites members to present at its highly-respected conferences and symposia. At our annual convention, the largest special education gatherings in the world, members present their work and practices in more than 600 sessions. Plus, CEC offers other opportunities for members to exchange ideas through online discussion forums, study groups, and other distance learning opportunities.

Advocacy
Through CEC's Children's Action Network (CAN), members can influence federal, provincial, and local policies on special education. As the voice for special education, advocates enhance their credibility, gain exposure to the field as well as the public, and make positive change for students with exceptionalities.

Leadership
CCEC offers numerous opportunities for members to assume leadership roles in the organization. Not only can members serve as officers in CEC chapters, councils and divisions, they can also participate in CEC standing committees and task forces. In addition, members with expertise in their specialty areas can serve as spokespersons for the organization.
